Preservation Techniques
Today, all food goes through different processes before we eat it. Some food products are processed more than others. Fruit and vegetables, for example, are only minimally processed. Processed food like frozen vegetables, canned tuna and dried fruit can still provide important nutrients and vitamins.
There are six main ways in which foods can be preserved:
1. High temperatures
2. Low temperatures
3. Removing moisture
4. Use of chemicals
5. Controlling the atmosphere
6. Irradiation
